GATHERING - WORSHIP - TEACHING.

The Church is commanded to advance through discipling (teaching to obedience) in God's Word. We grow in number as the Gospel spreads, and in fruitfulness as we are continually being renewed by the Spirit-breathed Word in our lives. Part of our joyful obedience to Christ which is a gift and means to keep and grow us in the world is a rhythm of gathered weekly worship which is a command, not a recommendation. To be called out from amongst the world to glorify God in the gathered: singing, praying, sharing, communion, and partaking of the Word. God has gifted the church with those tasked with overseeing the care of souls of the gathering and to assure the benefit of those lives. LUMA's teachings are expository messages from elder(s) of the church who are able, and qualified. Please consider that the Lord's intention and gift for us, and to us - is US! The people of God gathered, in-person to share in His blessings and the life of being among the believers, please do not neglect or dispise this gift by skipping gatherings. Whether you belong at LUMA or another Bible-teaching church -- online sermons are a resource, not a replacement for THE CHURCH.

2 Corinthians 4:3 And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.

Romans 13:1
Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, 4 for he is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience. 6 For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. 7 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.
